I took it quickly myself and notice I'm wearing one of Scott's shirts...Seems to be one of the only things that fit me these days. :)

Nursery

We finished the nursery (for the most part) last night! I am beyond excited. :) There are still a few things I want to get up on the wall but for the most part, I feel very ready to bring these little guys home. I've got all my linens and clothes washed and folded and put away by size, I've got a good starter set of diapers in a few sizes, wipes (and wipe warmer!), every kind of baby medicine you can imagine, diaper cream, baby wash, lotions, thermometers, etc... I even have my rocker set up just ready for me to rock babies to sleep :) Thank you a million times over to my parents who gifted us with the awesome crib and adorable PBK bedding. You guys are the best! xoxo

Weekly Appointments

We had a regular appointment with my OB yesterday and we're now on the "every week" schedule!

It's not like I'm really excited to go to the doctor every week, but really it means that we're getting pretty close!

Both babies are still in the same positions and looking good for a natural delivery. Tyler is very much head down now and very low. Mason is "transverse" (which means that he is in a half moon position on top of my belly button, but the doc said that it would be very easy for him to just slide down after Tyler is born. If not, she said that it shouldn't be too difficult to "manually" pull him down. This... I don't want to think about since it sounds very unpleasant, but she said it like it was no biggie. She also said that it's pretty unlikely that they'll change positions at all at this point since they are so tightly stuffed in there and there is really no room to move.

We also have to go for weekly "non stress tests" now. This is basically where they hook you up to the fetal heartrate monitors and monitor the babies heartrates as well as any contractions I may be having for a period of 20 minutes straight. If one baby moves too much and they have to readjust his monitor, they have to start the process over. I made sure to lay really still yesterday and everything looked perfect! I did have some contractions but they weren't bad at all. They also said that both babies had plenty of fluid in their sacs. They look for pockets of fluid at least 2.0cm deep/wide and both babies had over 3.5cm.

I swear these are the best babies ever. :) Next appt. is next Wednesday 2/3.

New Pics! 30 Week Ultrasound!

Well, we had our 30 week ultrasound today and everything looks just perfect still!
The biggest news of the day is that Tyler (baby A) has finally surpassed his brother Mason in size. A month ago, Tyler was measuring in at 10% smaller than Mason but at this appointment their measurments were:

Tyler - 3 lbs 7 oz
Mason - 3 lbs 4 oz

Both baby boys are measuring about a week ahead, which is great news! And...Tyler is now VERY MUCH head down and feet up! With the way that he is positioned now, it's pretty difficult for me to imagine him being able to flip completely around and go feet down again. There is not much room in there now, so it's only going to get more crowded!

Next appt is next Tuesday, so we'll see what my OB says about delivery!

Here are two picture of Tyler from today. Mason's cord was right in front of his face so all the pics of him are really distorted. :( But we've got lots of good ones of Mason so I'm happy to get some quality pics of Tyler, finally! Enjoy!

As If You Don't Have Enough To Worry About...

So I was reading this magazine that I got free at the doctor's office called "Pregnancy" and they had this article on bringing your own hospital gowns to the delivery...To be honest with you... I hadn't even thought about it. But once I read the article, it totally sounded like something I'd be apt to do...right?

So I went to one of the websites: www.deliverydaydesigns.com and the headline says:

"DON'T DELIVER IN A USED, DRABBY GOWN PROVIDED BY YOUR HOSPITAL, DELIVER IN STYLE!"

I mean, this is even just a little too much for even me. Like I don't have enough on my mind at that point, now I need to worry about "Delivering in Style?"

I think the nurses would just look at me and laugh if I pulled one of these numbers out of my bag and announced that I plan to "deliver in style" ha ha ha

But Wait... It gets better! You can also purchase "A Dressed Up Delivery" gift set complete with:

Cherry Shimmer Lip Gloss
Pretty Pushers Delivery Dress (in halter top style, no less)
Pretty Pushers Matching Headband
"Wipe Out" Lemon Water Towelette (for, according to the website: "a refreshing polish before the big push")
"Get Ready To Rub" Heated Massage Oil

Here is the website in case anyone feels the need to make sure I'm not only "delivering in style" but also "dressed up for delivery"... what a joke!

Got my crib and bedding!!

Thank you to my AMAZING parents who bought us our crib and bedding last weekend! I am so unbelievably excited to get it all down here to Palm Springs to set up the nursery! As many of you already know, my plan is to co-sleep the boys in the same crib in the beginning. I will have the main crib in the nursery (here's a pic of it)

...and 2 Pack N Plays. One in our bedroom and one in the living room for the times when one baby is awake and one is asleep. The crib is awesome
and the bedding is the "Chamois Lambie" collection from Pottery Barn Kids. :) Soooo excited!

Great Appointment Today!

We had our 29 week appointment today and it was probably one of the best ones we've had!

Overall, everything still looks great! Here were the highlights:

1. Sarah only gained 1lb in two weeks (AMEN)

2. Tyler switched positions again and is now head down once again! Let's pray he stays this way, but I know it's fully out of my control.

3. Mason has moved up a little higher than he was, but is still in good position. Basically, he's in a half-moon shape over my belly button with his head down and his feet facing the right side.

Today the doc said again that I'm cruising right along for a natural birth so we'll see what happens. I'm still cleared to exercise and basically do whatever I've been doing.

My belly is measuring about 38 weeks and I'm only 29 weeks, so the doctor told me to get ready to start to feel really big and that my uterus is about to "kick into extra innings"... this makes me nervous, but hey, what can I do??

Next appt. is next Wednesday the 20th for a Maternal Fetal Medicine ultrasound and hopefully we'll get some good pics that I can post. I'll also be 30 weeks at that point and officially only about 2 months left to go (or less if you ask some people who wish they'd get here sooner!)

Let's all still pray for a delivery the week of March 15th. That is my goal and my doctor's goal as well. :)

Have to have these!

So I found these online and emailed my mom to show her how adorable they are and what did she tell me?

"I already bought them" :) Gotta love her...

28 Weeks!

Here is a 28 week belly shot! Only about 10 weeks to go!

Still no stretch marks! I have been using the coconut oil and shea butter like crazy!

Scary Weekend...

Well, I had my first Labor and Delivery visit and scare...

On Saturday night, I started having Braxton Hicks contractions pretty regularly. I hadn't felt these before so I wasn't exactly sure what was happening, all I knew is that it didn't feel right.

It felt like my entire uterus/abdominal region was tightening up super hard and it would last for about 20 seconds. This would happen just about everytime I would move or change positions (ie. from standing to sitting, or vice versa, or reaching down to pick something up, etc.)

I looked in my books and they all said if I was having more than 4 in an hour that I should call the doctor. Well, I did and they of course told me to come on in.

We were in L and D for about 6 hours on Saturday night while they monitored the baby's heartbeats as well as my contractions. They did a few exams to make sure I wasn't going into labor and gave me a prescription to stop them if they start in full force again.

It was scary, but at least now I know what they are and to not freak out when it happens again...
and that is good, because they seem to come now pretty regularly.

All in all though, I'm still feeling pretty great! Let's just pray for no more scares before the delivery!
